Description
Product Specification :
Non-indicating silica gels function similarly to indicating Blue silica gel in terms of moisture absorption. However, they do not change color to indicate saturation. Instead, they remain white even when reaching saturation. This property makes them valuable for various applications, including fillers, catalyst supports, adsorbents, and dehydrating agents.
Crystal Sizes : 1 mesh to 60 meshes.
What is SILICA GEL?
Silica Gel is a synthetic, porous form of silica, created from sodium silicate. Despite its name, it does not have a gel-like consistency. Renowned as the most efficient adsorbent available today, Silica Gel possesses a high capacity for moisture absorption. Its structure is composed of interconnected pores that attract and retain moisture through adsorption and capillary condensation. Silica Gel is inert, non-toxic, non-flammable, and safe for safeguarding various items, including food, medications, and sensitive materials. Even when fully saturated with adsorbed moisture, Silica Gel maintains a dry appearance and texture to the touch.
How can SILICA GEL protect my product?
Moisture, when transformed into condensation, has the potential to cause irreversible damage. At our company, we are experts in producing a unique and high-quality SILICA GEL that offers an efficient solution for preventing rust, corrosion, oxidation, and tarnish on a wide range of items. Whether it’s tools, coin collections, silverware, jewelry, musical instruments, or other valuable possessions, our SILICA GEL provides reliable protection and peace of mind.
Additionally, our silica gel offers protection against mildew, fungus, mold, and odor for seasonal storage, collectibles, clothing, leather, and other susceptible materials by efficiently absorbing moisture levels ranging from 100% to 500%. In addition, it provides protection against spotting, staining, and cracking for photographs, stamp collections, books, and documents.
By utilizing SILICA GEL dehumidifiers, you can effectively eliminate excess moisture and further safeguard your stored belongings and important items.
Where can SILICA GEL be effective?
To optimize the effectiveness of SILICA GEL in preserving your desired area, it is advisable to keep the area tightly closed. Minimizing the ingress of external moisture is essential to prevent the gel from absorbing moisture from the surroundings. When moisture from outside the protected area is present, the silica gel will reach saturation more quickly, necessitating more frequent replacement. Additionally, it is beneficial to restrict airflow and minimize access to the area. For instance, placing SILICA GEL inside a storage trunk yields satisfactory results, whereas opening and closing the trunk lid multiple times a day allows external moisture to seep in, reducing the gel’s efficacy.
How to use SILICA GEL?
Open the packaging of the SILICA GEL Hydrosorbent and remove the unit. Place it on any exposed surface within the enclosed area requiring protection. Periodically check the indicator card. When the color changes from blue to pink, refer to the reactivation instructions provided with the unit. After reactivation and once the unit has cooled down, place it back in the enclosed space. Avoid leaving the unit exposed to the open air, as it will quickly absorb moisture from the surroundings.
Take the SILICA GEL Hydrosorbent out of its packaging. Position the unit on a visible surface within the targeted enclosed area. Keep an eye on the indicator card and monitor its color. Once the indicator changes from blue to pink, refer to the included reactivation instructions for the necessary steps. Once the unit has been reactivated and cooled down, carefully return it to the enclosed space. Remember that leaving the unit exposed will cause it to rapidly absorb moisture from the surrounding air. Please note that initially, the silica gel may quickly reach saturation as it absorbs any residual moisture. However, once the excess dampness is eliminated, you can maintain a dry environment with less frequent reactivation of the silica gel.
